Abstract

A third-year Design and Direction student production presented as a direction practical scenework, exploring theatrical design, staging, performance, lighting, costume, and music through collaborative experimentation under academic guidance.

Description

Crime of Passion is a direction practical scenework that examines the psychological and emotional complexities of human relationships, conflict, and moral choice through an experimental theatrical presentation. Rather than presenting a full-length play, the production focuses on the director's interpretation of selected dramatic situations, emphasizing character development, visual composition, stage movement, lighting, costume, music, and spatial design. Presented by third-year Design and Direction students of the National School of Drama, the scenework serves as an academic exercise in integrating performance with technical theatre elements, allowing students to explore directorial concepts, collaborative creativity, and innovative approaches to theatrical storytelling.
