Abstract
Three Sisters is a classic play written by Russian playwright Anton Chekhov, first performed in 1901. The drama centers on the lives of three sisters—Olga, Masha, and Irina—who live in a provincial town and yearn to return to Moscow, which symbolizes hope, fulfillment, and a more meaningful life. As time passes, their dreams remain unrealized, and the play quietly examines themes of longing, emotional inertia, the passage of time, and the gap between aspiration and reality.
