Born and raised in Assam’s Udalguri district, Jayanta Rabha is a theatre practitioner whose work continues to flourish through rigorous training at the National School of Drama, New Delhi, and a deep commitment to artistic expression. A graduate in Acting from Ranga Vidyalaya (2018) and a former student of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, where he pursued a course in Film and Television Appreciation, he brings a rare balance of classical discipline and contemporary sensitivity to his work. His profound understanding of Indian classical music further enriches the rhythm and emotional texture of his theatrical language. For over a decade, Jayanta Rabha has been deeply committed to theatre-making across India. He has performed in more than fifty productions and collaborated with diverse artistic communities. As an artist and educator associated with Sanskar Rang Toli and Rangavidya (2018–2024), he has demonstrated a long-standing dedication to using theatre as a transformative medium for young audiences. Through the Theatre-in-Education (TIE) programme, he has led and directed acclaimed productions such as Black Rain, Dev, Teen-Anari, Dance of the Daisies, and Chichi the Beetle, which create meaningful connections between theatrical expression and lived experience.
