Abstract
Aurat (औरत) is a Choreography Design Presentation inspired by the celebrated poem "Aurat" by Kaifi Azmi. Presented by Satyam Mishra, the work translates the poem's exploration of womanhood, identity, dignity, resilience, and social realities into a movement-based theatrical performance. Through contemporary choreography and physical expression, the presentation seeks to reinterpret Azmi's literary vision in a visual and performative form, emphasizing emotion, symbolism, and spatial composition rather than spoken narrative.
Description
Satyam Mishra is a student of the Third Year Design and Direction Specialisation at the National School of Drama. In Aurat, Mishra serves as the presenter and choreography designer, developing a movement-based interpretation of Kaifi Azmi's poetry under the guidance of Gilles Chuyen. The presentation reflects an experimental approach to choreography, integrating literature with contemporary performance practice.
