Abstract
The Courtyard: As a Vanishing Species is a theatre production by NSD final-year students based on the work of Elena Isaeva. The production explores the courtyard as a social and cultural space and reflects on its gradual disappearance or transformation. Scenography and direction were undertaken by Shurganova Natalya. The production was presented from 17 to 21 June 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Chahmukh Auditorium, National School of Drama, New Delhi, and was intended for audiences aged 18 years and above.
Description
Shurganova Natalya is credited as the scenographer and director of The Courtyard: As a Vanishing Species, a production presented by the National School of Drama’s final-year students. Her role combines visual design and theatrical direction, shaping the production’s stage environment, spatial composition, visual atmosphere, and overall dramatic presentation.
