Abstract

Gurudakshina is a Yakshagana prasanga developed through immersive training in Indian traditional theatre forms. Rooted in mythological narrative, the production explores the ethical and emotional dimensions of the guru–disciple relationship, duty, sacrifice, and devotion. Presented as a student production, the play integrates classical music, dance, stylized movement, and traditional performance techniques to reinterpret the narrative for a contemporary stage context.
