Abstract
Lighting Scenework is a practical theatre training exercise that introduces students to the principles and techniques of stage lighting. The demonstration explores how light functions as a visual language in performance by shaping space, directing audience attention, establishing mood, defining time and atmosphere, and supporting dramatic action.
Description
Souti Chakraborty is a theatre lighting designer and educator associated with the National School of Drama. Known for expertise in stage lighting and technical theatre, Chakraborty has guided students in developing practical skills in lighting design, cue programming, visual composition, and the creative use of light in performance.
