Abstract
Gumnam Sitare (Unsung Heroes) is a Theatre-in-Education production by the National School of Drama's Sanskaar Rang Toli, presented as part of the celebrations marking 75 years of India's Independence. The play pays tribute to lesser-known freedom fighters and national heroes whose sacrifices contributed significantly to India's struggle for independence. Through dramatic storytelling, music, movement, and visual performance, the production introduces audiences—especially young learners—to the lives, courage, and ideals of these forgotten heroes, fostering historical awareness, patriotism, and respect for their legacy.
