Abstract

Band Gali Ka Aakhiri Makaan is a celebrated Hindi play by Dharamvir Bharati that explores the emotional and social realities of people living in confined urban spaces. Through a series of interconnected characters, the play reflects loneliness, aspiration, middle-class anxieties, fractured relationships, and the search for dignity amidst changing social values. The National School of Drama Repertory Company's production presented a unique theatrical experiment by staging two independent interpretations of the same dramatic text, allowing audiences to experience how direction, performance, and stagecraft can transform the meaning and emotional impact of a play.
